A comprehensive multi-objective, multi-parameter and multi-condition optimization of a spiral groove in dry gas seals

چکیده

Dry gas seals are widely used in rotating equipment for fluid leakage control and operating efficiency enhancement, while the geometric parameters of spiral groove affect its sealing performance significantly. Groove width ratio δ, length α, angle β selected optimization different objectives, including opening force Fo, film stiffness kz, stiffness–leakage Γ. The genetic algorithm loop iteration method to solve multi-dimensional problems under working conditions, which reflected a new dimensionless number λ range 1 1000. Moreover, concept optimum spectrum is developed obtain global optimal parameters. comparison two dry with conducted experimentally verify effectiveness numerical results. Results show that both can provide better than single factor optimization, results were significantly influenced by conditions objectives. methods presented this paper theoretical experimental reference designing meet various requirements.
